    MIMIMUM BANKING SERVICES ACCOUNT

    The Minimum Banking Services Account (SMB) is a current account with no minimum initial deposit and no monthly fee that includes the following free services:

    • Free debit card for all account holders
    • Deposits, withdrawals, payments of goods and services, direct debits and transfers (including standing orders) within the European Union
    • Access to account transactions through ATMs, homebanking and balcony

    WHO CAN HAVE A SMB ACCOUNT?

      • Individuals, legal residents in European Union, who do not hold any other current account (or are holders of a single current account that can be switched into a SMB account) and who have subscribed the Declaration of Non-Existence of other Current Account (*)
      • Individuals holders of another current account as long as one of the co-holders of the SMB account is an individual over 65 years old or dependant on third parties who meet the above condition (dependant on third parties is someone with 60% or greater degree of permanent disability, duly proven by the competent authority).

    (*) The delivery of this declaration is optional, however the refusal to complete it makes the process of opening / switching the SMB account impossible under the applicable legislation.


    HOW TO OPEN A SMB ACCOUNT


    SMB ACCOUNT MAINTENANCE CONDITIONS

      • Maintain access conditions
      • Perform payment transactions from the SMB account (at least one in the last 24 months)
      • Do not deliberately use the account to purposes against the law

    If the above conditions are not fulfilled, Banco BNI Europa may close the account in accordance with the terms of the Standardized Information Form-SMB.

    Minimum Banking Services are regulated by Decree-Law no. 27-C / 2000 of 10th March, as amended by Law No. 19/2011 of 20th May, by Decree-Law no. 225/2012 of 17th October, by Law no. 66/2015 of 6th July and by Decree-Law no. 107/2017 of 20th August.
