PRIVACY POLICY

BNI – Banco de Negócios Internacional (Europa), S.A. (“BNI Europa”) is a financial institution having its registered office at Av. Eng. Duarte Pacheco, CC Amoreiras Tower 1 – 7th Floor, 1070-101 Lisbon and registered with the Bank of Portugal under no. 509007333.

BNI Europa is committed to protecting the privacy of its clients and of the users of this site and, in this context, prepared this Privacy Policy, which is aimed at demonstrating its commitment and compliance with the privacy and personal data protection rules.

Please read carefully this Privacy Policy because, if you are accessing our site, the provision of your personal data implies your knowledge and acceptance of the terms contained herein. Thus, by providing your personal data, you are thereby authorizing the collection, the use and disclosure thereof, in accordance with the rules laid down herein.

When we say personal data, we are referring to any information, of any nature, regardless of the respective format, including sound and image, relating to any identified or identifiable natural person. Anyone who may directly or indirectly be identified, namely by reference to an identification number or to one or more specific elements of his physical, physiological, psychic, economic, cultural or social identity,  shall be deemed an identifiable person.

BNI Europa shall be the data controller for the collection and processing of the personal data obtained through this site. However, it reserves the right to subcontract other entities to handle said processing for and on behalf of BNI Europa.

BNI Europa will process the users’ personal data when it is provided through the electronic form available on the site. The provision of some personal data is mandatory and, in the case where some data is insufficient or not provided, BNI Europa may not be able to provide the information, products or services required by the user. In every specific case, BNI Europa will inform you whether the personal data is mandatory or not. BNI Europa is currently collecting and processing the following personal data: name, address, phone number and e-mail address.

The collected personal data is processed by automated means in full compliance with the personal data protection laws, and stored in specific data bases created for that purpose. The collected data will under no circumstance be used for any purpose other than the one for which the data subject has given his consent.

In general, the collected personal data shall be used in information and marketing actions, as well as for including the users in subscriber directories. However, the user may provide us with personal data for other purposes, like for instance, sending claims and suggestions, dissemination of institutional information, as well as for carrying out market studies, assessment surveys, etc.

The length of time during which the data can be retained and stored varies in accordance with the purpose for which the personal data is processed. In fact, there are legal requirements that impose retaining the data for a minimum period of time. Therefore, whenever there is no specific legal requirement, the data will be retained and stored only for the minimum period required to achieve the purposes that motivated its collection, or their subsequent processing, or for the period of time authorized by the National Data Protection Council, after which it will be deleted.

Pursuant to the Personal Data Protection Law, the right to access, update, rectify or delete one’s personal data is at all times guaranteed to the data subject, as well as the right to oppose the use of the data provided for marketing purposes, for sending communications or for the inclusion in directories or information services. BNI Europa undertakes to seek the protection and security of the personal data provided to us. Bearing in mind the great concern and commitment revealed by BNI Europa to protect privacy issues, several security measures of technical and organizational nature were adopted in order to protect the personal data that is provided to us against its unwanted disclosure, loss, misuse, alteration, processing or unauthorized access, as well as against any other form of unlawful processing.

Notwithstanding the security measures adopted by BNI Europa, we alert everyone who browses the internet to adopt additional security measures, namely ensuring that you are using an updated PC and browser, in terms of security patches, properly configured with an active firewall, anti-virus and anti-spyware, and to ascertain the authenticity of the sites that you visit on the internet, avoiding websites in whose reputation you do not trust.

BNI Europa reserves the right to make at any given moment readjustments or amendments to this Privacy Policy, which will be duly publicized in this site.

COOKIE POLICY

Cookies are small software tags that are stored in your computer through the browser and which retain only information related to your preferences, not including, as such, your personal data.

BNI Europa uses “cookies” with the purpose of helping to establish the usefulness, the interest and the number of uses of its site, allowing thereby a faster browsing experience and eliminating the need to introduce repeatedly the same information. The use of cookies is common practice among Internet websites and the majority of internet browsers allow users to accept, refuse or delete cookies, namely by selecting the appropriate definitions in the respective browser.
